North Bondi is mainly considered by many as part of the Bondi Beach area. It sits on the hill facing the Tasman Sea. However, it doesn’t really serve as a major tourist attraction when compared to the regions that surround it. Still, this is a plus for residents and resettlers who prefer the privacy and comfort of familiar faces and the lack of crowds during the summer. However, this also means it may not have as many retail stores or cafes as the nearby Bondi Beach, even though the select few are certainly adequate for the residents of Bondi North. Plus, residents get to enjoy and the visitors that actually troop to Bondi North get to enjoy the generous views of Bondi Beach and its environs via the Ben Buckler Lookout. There’s also a golf course hinged right on the water, with vast greenery and lovely landscapes to take in while enjoying the luxurious sport.
Not to be confused with the popular Bondi Beach, Bondi is a more mellow and residential suburb that actually lies close to the vibrant tourist beach zone. It is surrounded by Bellevue Hill, Bronte, Tamarama, and, of course, Bondi Beach. One of the major roads in the suburb, Bondi Road, leads directly to the beach and also divides the suburb into two. The northern part of Bondi has more apartment-style blocks, while the south has more private and modest homes suitable for both singles and families. Along this major road, there are a number of shops and lovely restaurants to stop at and dine at. However, for grocery shopping, there’s a nearby shopping hub adjacent to the eateries and cafes that provides that.
