Aberglasslyn is a lovely, family-friendly suburb full of parks, playgrounds, and open field areas. It has long been referred to as the Country Estate because of the bushlands and paddocks that surround it. However, a lot of that land has been developed into sub-divisions which include The Sanctuary and Weblands Wonderland. This suburb is also home to the Aberglasslyn House, which is a private residence that sits by the Hunter River and is famed to be made only from sandstone. It’s not just one of the earliest colonial buildings, thanks to the vintage wine cellars, the House may be one of the only boutique Vineyards of that design.
