Adamstown Heights is a southern suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. It is 8 kilometres west-southwest of Newcastle's central business district along the Pacific Highway. It is split between the City of Lake Macquarie and the City of Newcastle local government areas.The suburb contains two schools, Kotara High School and Belair Public School, established in 1968. Kotara High School comprises 3 hectares of native bushland. Westfield Kotara shopping centre, Garden City Kotara and the Kotara fair on its northern border serve the suburb.Adamstown Heights is on several bus routes. It is also near two railway stations on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line, Kotara and Adamstown.

There are also two smaller shopping centers, including Hilltop Plaza and The Forum Centre, an office and retail center on Pacific Highway that features a cinema. The suburb has a police station and a fire station. The New South Wales Ambulance Service has its Northern Communications Center in Charlestown, off Dudley Road. Charlestown has four primary schools: the state schools of Charlestown Primary, Charlestown South Primary, and Charlestown East Primary; and the Catholic diocese's St. Joseph's Primary School.
